Kohler K301 ignition system bundle
Easy plug-in to wiring harness behind dash. Had to grind hole in dash a bit to fit threaded end through. Not a big deal. Works as expected.

Key Switch
I know the material is aluminum or a white metal. You need to be very careful not to damage the threads. When tightening the nut, not using any real force I stripped the threads. Had to use a washer to move the switch back a bit to get an area that was not damaged. The nut should be a little thicker so you have a few more threads to improve grip.

IGNITION KEY SWITCH FOR GARDEN TRACTORS WITH BATTERY IGNITION
2nd one I've bought and both work perfectly. When they were on backorder I tried one from another supplier; it didn't work at all, Luckily I got a refund from them. Won't purchase from anyone but here in the future.

Ignition Key Switch
I bought it for a 1985 Wheel Horse 417-8. I plugged it in and fired the tractor right up! PERFECT!!

Perfect fit, works as it should.

May need to adjust the opening on your tractor so it will fit
Other than it not fitting initially in the slot hole - which was remedied in 5 seconds with a quick grind, the starter works perfectly. It's actually much much sturdier than the one that my dad had previously installed who knows how many years ago. The keys are also nice and sturdy and don't bend and twist like cheaper ones I've seen. just remember to unhook your battery while changing it out.

Ignition switch
Had to enlarge the mounting hole in my JD, and the 5 pin layout did not match my OEM connector, or the universal connector I bought also. Minor details, and now it should last another 40 years.
