    Best carburetor for Kohler M-18

Second carburetor I purchased. This time for a Cub Cadet 1862. “Plug and play”. It’s that easy.

    Not a direct fit for a M20 in a CC 2072

Posted by Jim P. on May 5th 2023

The M20 fired right up after install. Idles very well. High speed is hunts a bit, problem I hoped this would fix. Could be a 2nd gov adjustment is needed. The throttle linkage is not for my M20, this carb is set up for a "s" bend at the end of the cable. Mine is a 90 deg bend with a plastic clasp. I had to use throttle rod and plate from Kohler carb. This carb is made in Taiwan, which is "more better" than china.

    Replacement carb for m20 kohler

Posted by Alan W Cameron on Apr 10th 2023

My old carb leaked badly and I couldn't get it to idle properly. I found a rebuild kit locally that contained some gaskets, a couple needles and seats for 65 bucks. isavetractors had the all new carb for 70 bucks, it showed up 1 day early. Had it installed in 20 min. . Very little adjustments and it runs and idles perfectly. Such a good deal Thank you

    M18 replacement Carb

Posted by Marc Held on Nov 18th 2022

Nice replicated carb. Much nicer than the Chinese Amazon specimens. This one comes with the extra choke shaft, and instructions on how to swap them, which is exactly what I needed. My original carb was a Walbro fixed jet. This one is an adjustable jet and the settings are very touchy. Took some time, and a lot of cranking, until I found the sweet spot where she would run. Still needs tweaking, but its running now, which is what my goal was for replacing the carb. Throttle lever needs some work. Not an exact fit. May try swapping it from the old carb.

    Retrofit Carburetor

Posted by Gerald Groff on Oct 10th 2022

I finished adjusting the low speed and high speed screws (engine running) and went for a drive around the neighborhood. The engine run wonderfully, it also helped adding some fresh gas to the tank. Anyway, I originally installed the new carb with the original throttle blade and shaft due to linkage fitment. Bad idea, engine barely ran, engine seemed to have an intake vaccum leak. Next day pulled out the old throttle blade/shaft, modified (drill out hole) the new throttle shaft top butterfly for a linkage bushing. Re-installed the carb, started up the engine, adjusted low/high speed screws, and the result was stable engine operation. Bottomline, excellent product. The installation videos inspired confidence in terms of product and installation.
