    Kohler Magnum Carburetor

I was so happy to find this carburetor available for my 36 year old tiller after my local supplier told me it was discontinued. The woman at iSavetractors was very knowledgable and helpful, found me the correct part and even suggested the associated gaskets. Best of all, it came with great instructions, installed easily, and the old Kohler now starts on the first pull every time (hasn't done that in. years!) Thanks for your wonderful products and service!

    I don't recommend

Bought this for a Kohler K161 engine. For this price, the carb should be a simple replacement. First I had to enlarge the throttle linkage hole to work with the OEM/factory Kohler linkage. Not a huge deal. The big kicker was that one of the necessary screw holes to mount the air cleaner backing plate did not have threads tapped in it. I called them up, and before I could even ask, I was told to tap it. ...as if this is a common call. I did this, but it's not a great option with the shallow depth of the hole in the carb. By the time you bottom out a regular Hanson/Irwin tap in the hole, the tapered part of the tap cannot cut enough threads to accept the length of the factory screw. So rather than shorten the screw, I used a couple flat washers inside the air cleaner backing plate to allow me to snug up the screw. IMO, this is unacceptable. I've never had to do such modifications to a replacement carb before. The carb itself runs fine after a slight low idle speed adjustment.

Fit my 8hp Troy Bilt rototiller

It fit my 8hp Troy Bilt rototiller with a Kohler engine. I put it on and it only needed a little idle adjustment and then it ran perfectly!

    CARBURETOR #16 FOR KOHLER K90 K91 K141 K160 K161 K181 & M8

Worked great, switched choke shaft, I did mic the small ball which is 3mm in case I lost it to know what size it was. Had to tap one hole 8-32, the other three were tapped no problem. started right right up. Minor adjusted to finish.

    carb

Worked like a champ. Swapped the choke lever and enlarged hole for throttle rod. The motor has never ran so good.
